Padstow Sailing Club

Padstow Sailing Club is a small but friendly club. Its membership boasts a wide range of skills and interests - not always sailing but always good fun. We aim to encourage anyone to take to the water in what is one of the most idyllic sailing venues on the Cornish coast. Having just got back onto our feet after a number of years without a clubhouse, our facilities are limited but expanding year on year. Although small, our clubhouse offers all the basic amenities including separate male/female changing facilities, tea and coffee making equipment, microwave cooking, boat storage and of course - a warm welcome.

Windsurfing boards and boats are available for hire to Club members at very competitive rates. Experienced sailors are on hand to assist you in attaining experience or to give pointers on basic sailing techniques.

Basic training can be given but the budding sailor is encouraged to approach the Camel School of Seamanship for more formal training and certification. With a wide ranging membership, we are able to offer theoretical and practical experience in windsurfing, dinghy sailing, motor boat handling and yachting. All of our sailors give up their time free of charge but charges are made for the hire of boats. To view the boats available for hire, please see the boat hire section.

Many different events are organised for members’ entertainment. If you do not have your own boat you can hire if you are the independent sort, or join another member on his or her boat or be ferried by one of our experienced skippers in the club motor boat.

We arrange barbeques on the beach and river cruises to Wadebridge where you can sample the local fish and chips before returning to Padstow. We organise fishing trips, day sailing, quiz nights, theme evenings and buffets. Centrally situated, we are well placed to book other activities if you are short of time and wish to book ahead. A small charge will be made for making these bookings on your behalf. All of our activities are operated by volunteers and charges are therefore very reasonable and geared to purchasing further equipment and utilities for members’ enjoyment.
